Marmon-Herrington CTLS

Marmon-Herrington  CTLS tank   (a CTLS-4TAC in the foreground and a CTLS-4TAY in the background) in Alaska, summer of 1942. The  Marmon-Herrington  Combat Tank Light Series were a series of  U.S.   light tanks/tankettes  that were produced for the export market at the start of the  Second World War . The CTL-3 had a crew of two and was armed with two .30 cal (7.62 mm) M1919 machine guns and one .50 cal (12.7 mm)  M2 Browning machine gun . They were originally designed to be amphibious light tanks. They were rejected by the  Marines  in 1939, but after the  attack on Pearl Harbor  they were exported and used as an emergency light tank. It primarily served in  Alaska  and the  Dutch East Indies , while small numbers were used in the U.S. as guard tanks stationed along the U.S. coast. A total of about 700 examples were produced, and although it was declared obsolete by the Allies in 1943, it was used by the newly created Indonesian Army after the end of the Second World W

M26 Pershing

A Pershing tank of the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War in 1950. The Pershing was a  heavy tank   of the  United States Army . The tank is named after  General of the Armies   John J. Pershing , who led the  American Expeditionary Force  in Europe in  World War I . It was briefly used in the final months of World War II and extensively during the  Korean War . Intended as a replacement of the  M4 Sherman , the prolonged time of development meant that only a small number saw combat in the European theater, most notably in the 9th Armored Division's dramatic dash to take the  Ludendorff Bridge  during the  Battle of Remagen . Based on the criteria of firepower, mobility, and protection,  R. P. 1937 Austin 10  Cambridge military staff car used by the British Army pre -war and during WW2                                Produced from 1932 to 1947. There were around 290,000 made A new body style was added in 1936 with the six light (three windows down each side, with one behind the rear door) " Sherbourne " but the big change came in 1937 with the almost streamlined " Cambridge " saloon and " Conway " cabriolet. Other changes included Girling rod brakes, 16-inch steel disc wheels replaced the 19-inch wires and more room for passengers by moving the engine forwards by 4 inches. Top speed rose to 60 mph . These changes did not appear on the open cars, which no longer included the Ripley sports, until 1938 when all cars also gained an aluminium cylinder head on the engine
